NATURE

Ow and I found some nice pictures via Notcot on the same volcano as the previous post. Did you know their can be a lot of lightning involved in these eruptions?

  1. No, didn't know. But why? The eruptions creates a lot of "friction" or something?

  2. He.. I dunno why actually! Maybe the enormous energy that erupts or something..but it looks like it is really coming from within the ash-clouds.

    Maybe smoky hot liquid iron parts or something within the magma, who have a different potential then the surrounding air. In the end all the parts want to be neutral so...they solve the potential differences with some nice sparks.

    At least It looks very spectacular!
